Fire accident at SHAR, 3 injured

Nellore/Hyderabad, August 13: A fire accident occurred today at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota in Nellore. Three persons were injured in the incident. Fire broke out while mixing GSLV fuel in a building of solid fuel wing in SHAR in the afternoon. All the staff became panic and run for safety. As the GSLV will be introduced into the space by the end of this month, works in the solid fuel plant are going on. SHAR officials are yet to confirm the accident officially. Here the fuel will contain explosive material also. A certain type of powder catches fire which lead to the fire accident, said SHAR sources. Fire engines from Chennai also came to douse the fire. The injured were shifted to Chennai hospital for better treatment. According to sources, the injuries were not life-threatening. Earlier also, about 12 persons died in an accident here.
