TS has done nothing to stop farmers suicides: Kodandaram

Hyderabad, Aug 11: Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Prof. M Kodandaram has said that Telangana government has done nothing to prevent farmers' suicides in the state. Kodandaram opined that farmers suicides were rising due to the lopsided policies of previous governments. He said that even the TRS government was not taking steps to stop farmers suicides. Telangana stands next to Vidarbha( Eastern part of Maharashtra) in the country in farmers suicides and it is not correct deny farmers suicides. According to Central government statistics, 800 farmers forcibly took their lives in the state in the previous year, he added. He demanded the Centre to immediately bifurcate High Court.
