TS fails to spend budgetary allocations

Hyderabad, Aug 03: The Telangana government has failed to spend budgetary allocations made to different departments. Of the Rs 1.15 lakh crore budget presented for the financial year 2015-16, even 15 per cent was not spent in the first quarter from April to June. According to financial experts, government should spend 25 per cent of its budget in each quarter. The previous governments in AP spent 20 per cent of the total allocations in the first quarter. The government should spend Rs 28,992 crore in the first three months but total revenues earned by it stood at Rs 17,000 crore. Experts warned that the funds would remain unspent if the government releases them at the end of the financial year to meet its targets.
