Vyapam scam: 'Restore our dignity or permit us to die'

Hyderabad, July 23: "Give back our last dignity and honour. Or permit us to die". Five students, accused of cheating in the vyapam pre-medical test wrote a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee. Amit Chadha, Manish Gupta, Vikash Gupta, Raghavendra Bhadauria and pankaj Bansal were from Gajra Raja Medical College. There were several allegations that many students purchased medical seats by paying huge amounts during the pre-medical test conducted in Madhya Pradesh. These fives students came clear after the inquiry by the officials, who were probing the scam. But, the five students lamented that they were still labelled as cheaters and have been suspended from the college. After facing humiliation and harassment by lecturers and students, these five wrote a letter to the President seeking permission for euthanasia. The scam of Vyapam, Vyavsayik Pareeksha Mandal, also known as Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board dates back to 2007 and came to light now. Already 46 persons, allegedly involved in the scam, directly or indirectly, were died. Opposition parties demanding resignation of Chief Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan. CBI is investigating the case.
