Millionaire held for begging

Kuwait, July 13: A foreigner, having 5,00,000 Kuwait Dinars (over Rs 10 crore) in his bank account, was arrested for begging in Kuwait. The police arrested the non-Kuwaiti beggar near a mosque in the city and remanded him to custody at Al Ahmadi station. During interrogation it was revealed that the beggar had a bank account with a balance of 5,00,000 Kuwaiti Dinars. Kuwait like others Gulf countries does not allow begging, particularly in the month of Ramadan. Despite the stringent laws many people are resorting to begging to earn money easily. Kuwait has deported several persons in the past for allegedly being involved in begging.
