DK Aruna files PIL against absence of women in TS Cabinet

Hyderabad, July 12: Senior Congress leader and Gadwal MLA DK Aruna has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Supreme Court on absence of women in Telangana Cabinet. She flayed the State government for not giving due representation to women. She reminded that there were six women ministers in the last Cabinet of united AP. Aruna said that poor representation of women in constitutional bodies is violation of constitution and urged the Supreme Court to give necessary directions to the State government. There are many women MLAs in the present Assembly and the government can induct them in the cabinet, she added. She regretted that women were not given due representation in Telangana, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and some North Eastern states.
