Hyderabad NEET Re-Exam Cheating: Student Hides Smartphone in Toilet Flush Tank, Caught Red-Handed
The incident occurred at the Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) examination centre in Ragannaguda. The accused, a student from Achampet in Nagarkurnool district, arrived at the centre as early as 7 AM, even though the exam was scheduled to begin at 2 PM. He cleverly hid his smartphone in the ventilator of the school washroom when no one was around.
Later, he entered the examination hall along with other candidates. After the exam commenced, he placed the phone in a zip-lock cover and concealed it inside the flush tank of the toilet. Despite two thorough checks by the examination staff, the device went undetected.
A short while into the exam, the student sought permission from the invigilator citing stomach pain and proceeded to the washroom. When he failed to return for a long time, suspicious invigilators went to check and caught him red-handed, searching for answers on his phone. The school authorities immediately lodged a complaint, leading to the student’s arrest by the police. The smartphone was seized from him, and further investigation is underway.
This latest episode has once again highlighted serious concerns over the security and integrity of the NEET examination process.
