Row brews over deployment of AP police in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 16: A row appears to be brewing between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments over the deployment of the latter’s police force in Hyderabad. After the arrest of TDP MLA Revanth Reddy, Telangana police guarding Chandrababu’s residence were replaced with AP police. Similarly, the AP government today issued orders not to allow Telangana police into L Block at secretariat which houses Chandrababu’s office and replaced Telangana police with AP police. Meanwhile, Telangana DGP has lodged a complaint with Governor ESL Narasimhan over the deployment of AP police in Hyderabad. He asserted that law and order in Hyderabad lies under the control of Telangana police and warned that security would be withdrawn for AP elected representatives and officials.
