Police official held for train robbery

Hyderabad, June 15: Nellore police arrested Markapuram OSD (Office on Special Duty) Samay Jhon Rao in connection with robbery in Navjeevan Express train. On the insistence of OSD, three special branch police constables robbed Rs 90 lakh from gold traders in the name of investigation. On May 14, three Armed Reserve constables in civil dress boarded the train at Nellore. They checked the baggage of two gold traders travelling in the same bogey and found Rs 90 lakh cash. The police constables stopped the train by pulling chain and asked the traders to get down for investigation. Later, they took the traders to Kavali in a car. They dropped the traders on the outskirts of the town and escaped with cash. On the basis of complaint lodged by traders, police started investigation and arrested the accused.
