MRO suspended over farmer’s death in Kadapa
Kadapa, June 15: Andhra Pradesh government has suspended Nandaluru MRO over the death of a farmer. Syed Makbul Basha climbed a cellphone tower alleging that the MRO demanded Rs 4 lakh to issue pattadar pass books. The farmers died on heart stroke while staging a protest. The government took a serious note of the issue and Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy directed the officials to conduct an inquiry into the incident. Makbul Basha was a resident of Nagireddpalli village in the mandal. He approached the MRO for transfer of five acre ancestral land into his name. He climbed a cell tower in the morning and informed family members about the issue. By the time family members, police and 108 staff arrived, Makbul Basha died of heart attack.
