KCR: I can't be cowed down, will build houses on OU campus

Hyderabad , May 19, 2015: Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao made it clear today he would keep his promise on constructing houses for the poor people on the land of the Osmania University. Reacting to students objecting to his promise to the poor people of Parsigutta on this count, he said he is very firm on his promise and would go ahead with implementing his promise. "I am very intransigent and would not sleep till I achieve my goals. I am not in the habit of abandoning things half way through. I am very determined to build houses on a part of the land of the Osmania University as per my promise," he told reporters, objecting to students burning his effigy. "While students are burning my effigies , some political leaders are supporting them. Universities do not need hundreds and thousands of acres. This is not the period of monarchs. We are living in democracy," he thundered , brushing aside the opposition from students. He said race course, golf course and playing-card clubs have thousands of acres in Hyderabad. "What is the wrong if we build houses for poor people on those lands?" he asked.
