TSRTC to hike bus fares by 15% after June 2

Hyderabad, May 16: Telangana Road Transport Corporation is getting ready to increase bus fares by at least 15 per cent anytime after June 2, the state formation day. This is to mop up over Rs 500 crore additional revenues to cover up for the additional expenditure burden following the government's announcement of 44 per cent fitment to TSRTC employees. Another reason for the bus fare hike is the recent increase in the diesel prices. It is all the more important for the TSRTC to jack up the bus fares in the state. According to sources, the APSRTC has fixed May 20 as the appointed day for the bifurcation of the transport corporation.
