After Google Success, AP Minister Lokesh Heads to US for New Investments
Andhra Pradesh's Minister for IT and Human Resources, Nara Lokesh, is scheduled to visit the United States from December 6 to 9, aiming to attract significant foreign investment to the state. Expectations are high for the tour, which follows his previous success in bringing tech giant Google to Andhra Pradesh.
The visit is part of the new coalition government's focused efforts to boost industrial growth and re-establish 'Brand AP' on the global stage. Recently, Nara Lokesh played a key role in securing investment commitments worth ₹13 lakh crore during the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam.
According to the finalized schedule, Lokesh will begin his tour by addressing a large gathering of the Telugu diaspora at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, near Dallas, on December 6. The event is expected to draw around 8,000 attendees from across the US and Canada, with NRI wings of the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena playing a crucial role in its organization. Following this, he will hold meetings with representatives of major companies in San Francisco on December 8 and 9.
During past interactions, Lokesh has highlighted Andhra Pradesh's investor-friendly policies, its 974-kilometer coastline, upcoming infrastructure like the Bhogapuram airport and new ports, and unique initiatives such as the 'Skill Census' and a planned AI University in Amaravati. The government is also working to bring back companies that previously exited the state and is in talks with firms like HCL and TCS for expansion.
