Farmer tries to kill self during Chandrababu public meeting
Vizianagaram, May 6 ,2015: A farmer in Vizianagaram district tried to commit suicide during the public meeting of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday. While Chandrababu was addressing the people at Narsipuram village of Parvatipuram Mandal as part of the 'Neeru-Chettu' programme, Ramu, the farmer from nearby Chinbhogili village of Sitaphal Mandal, came there with pesticide. In full public view, he consumed it creating commotion and forcing Chandrababu to stop his speech for a while. Reports said that the distressed farmer tried to take away his life as the local VRO has been harassing him for a long time. As there was no 108 service vehicle or any ambulance, he was taken to a nearby hospital in an auto. His condition is stated to be serious.
