HC permits AP Capital farmers to cultivate their lands

Hyderabad, April 16, 2015: The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad on Thursday passed interim orders in the land pooling case saying that farmers who gave their lands for the construction of the capital city can cultivate their lands freely. However, the court directed the farmers not to sell their lands or lease them out to any one. "You can do agricultural activity freely in your fields without leasing them out or selling them," said the apex court in its interim orders. The Government has informed the court that land pooling has been taking place as per the rules. There are no violations of any law in pooling the lands for capital city , Government counsel informed the court. The interim orders were in response to the petitions filed by a batch of farmers who sought court permission to cultivate their lands. The court deferred till July first week further hearing of the case.
