AP encounter police now face murder charges as FIR issued against them

Hyderabad, April 16, 2015: The AP Government had issued an FIR against the policemen involved in the Seshachalam encounter in which 20 Tamil Nadu wood cutters lost their lives last week. This was informed to the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad by AP Government counsel. The counsel told the HC that the FIR was issued on a complaint lodged by one Muniammal, wife of one of the killed red sanders wood cutters. With the FIR issued, the police officials involved in the encounter will now face murder case and will be investigated. Government issuing FIR against the encounter police comes in the wake of Muniammal lodging a complaint at Kuppam police station in Chittor district and also a petition in the High Court.
