Media, technology can make India rich: Chandrababu

Visakha, April 8, 2015: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday expressed the hope that India can come out of poverty with the help of media and technology. Addressing the delegates at the Parliament, Media and Law conference organised here by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Chandrababu said that social media helps leaders and Government keep in touch with people continuously. "We are able to take the message of our welfare schemes to people through social media websites Face Book and Twitter. The striking down of section 66 of the IT Act by the Supreme Court is a thing that everyone should welcome ," he said , adding many people are using the social media as a weapon to disseminate their thoughts and ideas to people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too depended most on Face Book and Twitter during his election campaign in 2014, he said and added: "Even candidates in US elections too canvassed through Twitter."
