India bans Pakistani digital content citing national security
The Government of India has issued critical orders in light of national security concerns, imposing a blanket ban on the broadcast of media content originating from Pakistan. The directive was released by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Citing the prioritization of national security, the government stated that the decision aims to curb the influence of foreign content deemed sensitive or inappropriate under current geopolitical circumstances. The ban covers Pakistani web series, film songs, podcasts, and other digital media broadcasts.

These restrictions apply across all over-the-top (OTT) platforms as well as other digital media outlets. The Ministry has instructed that all such content be taken down immediately. According to the statement, the directive comes into force with immediate effect, and all concerned platforms have been directed to strictly adhere to the new regulations.

As a result of this ban, Indian audiences will no longer have official access to Pakistani content through legal streaming or broadcast platforms.
