CM Chandrababu Directs Quick Compensation After Unseasonal Rain Damage

In response to the extensive crop damage and loss of life caused by unseasonal rains across Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has issued urgent directives to district authorities.
During a video conference held on Monday from the state secretariat with district collectors, Nara Chandrababu Naidu instructed officials to ensure that investment assistance reaches all farmers affected by crop losses by Tuesday evening. He also directed that immediate compensation be provided to the families of the ten individuals who died due to lightning strikes. Additionally, he ordered that assistance be released in accordance with regulations for livestock that perished during the incidents.
Officials informed Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu that paddy and maize crops across 2,224 hectares had been damaged due to the unexpected downpour in several districts. They further reported that horticultural crops such as banana, papaya, and mango were damaged across 138 hectares.
According to the officials' report, West Godavari district saw crop damage over 1,033 hectares, followed by Nandyal with 641 hectares, Kakinada with 530 hectares, and Sri Sathya Sai district with 20 hectares. Horticultural crop losses were recorded in Krishna, Eluru, Kakinada, NTR, Tirupati, Nandyal, and West Godavari districts.
