- Ganesh Immersion: Fri, 25 Sep 2026. The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and Ranga Reddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts only (G.O.Rt.No.1396, 23.09.2026). The second Saturday, 14 November, is a working day there instead.
Rules in the G.O.s
- State Government offices are closed on all Sundays and second Saturdays.
- Employees may take up to five optional holidays a year, whatever their religion, with prior permission.
- General holidays do not automatically apply to industrial establishments, public sector undertakings, Public Works workmen and educational institutions; their departments issue separate orders.
- Dates of Ramzan, Bakrid, Moharram and Milad-un-Nabi depend on the moon sighting; changes are announced through the media.
