Chief Minister KCR felicitated World women boxing champion Nikhat Zareen and world champion in shooting Esha Singh

On the occasion of Telangana Formation day today, Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao hosted World women boxing champion Nikhat Zareen and world champion in Shooting Esha Singh and felicitated them. Earlier, the CM KCR presented Rs 2 crore cheque and also felicitated at the grand celebrations of Telangana formation day conducted in the Public Gardens. He invited them along with family members to Pragati Bhavan and had lunch with all. He interacted with them for a while.
CM KCR enquired Nikhat about her passion towards boxing from childhood and the efforts put to win the gold medal. Nikhat told CM KCR that her father, who also a sports person, gave inspiration and encouragement to her from childhood. She said the financial assistance and encouragement extended by the state government had instilled confidence in her. She expressed happiness for the government support. Nikhat thanked CM KCR for extending all kinds of help in the crucial time. The Chief minister congratulated Nikhat for her commitment and confidence.
He said that the government’s main aim is to promote sports and develop the next generations physically and mentally strong. CM KCR called upon Telangana youth to take inspiration from Nikhat and Esha Singh and bring more laurels to the Telangana state.
Nikhat recollected the assistance of Rs 50 lakh extended to her by government and also a boxing still in a photo with her by KCR at Independent day celebrations held in 2014. “ Sir KCR, I clinched this victory with the inspiration from you. I request you to again give a photo still of boxing fist for her return with a big success”, Nikhat requested the chief minister. On her request, CM KCR applauded the boxing champion and took a photo with her imitating in a boxing still and smiley gesture. Nikhat thanked the chief minister for accepting her request.
Nikhat parents Jameel Ahmed and Parveen Sultana expressed gratitude to CM KCR for presenting Rs 2 crore cash award and allotting a residential plot.
CM KCR also interacted with Gold medallist in Junior world cup shooting Esha Singh. He congratulated for displaying stellar performance in a small age. The Chief Minister praised Esha parents – Sachin Singh and Srilatha for grooming their daughter as the best sport person. The Chief Minister and his wife Shobha gave a send off to the two sports persons and their family members after a host for nearly an hour and felicitated them.
