CM Jagan Inaugurates Mega Township in Amaravati

Despite encountering fierce resistance from the farmers, Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, initiated a house-site patta distribution event in Amaravati on Friday, 26th May, intended to benefit the economically disadvantaged in Vijayawada and Guntur.

Addressing an extensive public gathering at Venkatapalem in Amaravati to celebrate the occasion, Jagan Mohan Reddy articulated that, "As many as 50,793 recipients are set to receive house sites across 25 layouts, encompassing a total of 1,402 acres."

He further elucidated that "the state government is poised to commence the construction of these residences on 8th July, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy.”

“The land that the government is distributing is valued between Rs 7-10 lakh per site. These plots will be registered in the name of the female head of each family," he explained.

He emphasized, "Following the patta distribution, Amaravati will symbolize our collective ownership. These pattas are not merely documents that confer property rights, but they signify the social justice extended by the government."

According to the state government's official statement, “The beneficiaries will be given three options regarding the construction of their houses. The first one involves crediting Rs 1.8 lakh directly into their bank accounts, should they wish to undertake the construction themselves. The second alternative is to reimburse the entire labour cost and provide them with complimentary bricks, along with subsidised steel, cement, and door frames. Lastly, if the beneficiaries prefer the government to manage the entire construction, it would gladly accommodate their request.”
