Rapaka Vara Prasada Rao sensational comments on Rs 10 Crore offer to him ahead of MLC election
The recently concluded MLA Quota MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh have created a stir in the state's political circles. The elections were held to fill seven vacancies, out of which the ruling YSR Congress Party (YCP) won six seats, and the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) managed to secure one. With four dissident MLAs leaving the party, TDP now has 19 MLAs. Interestingly, TDP's MLC candidate, Panchumurthy Anuradha, received 23 votes, implying that four votes from the opposition party fell in favor of TDP, leading to YCP suspending four MLAs.
In the midst of this political drama, Rajolu MLA Rapaka Varaprasad made some sensational comments. He said that he was approached to vote in favor of TDP during the MLC elections. Varaprasad stated that TDP's MLA Ramaraju offered him a good future in the party, along with financial incentives. However, he refused the offer and made it clear that he would not engage in cross-voting. Varaprasad further added that he did not wish to be involved in such activities and asked Ramaraju not to approach him again on the matter.
