Exclusive: Rukmini Vijayakumar's Underwater Film on World Water Day and Ugadi
Rukmini Vijayakumar, a renowned dance choreographer, Bharatanatyam performer, and actress hailing from Bengaluru, is presently vacationing in Melbourne, Australia.
Coinciding with Ugadi and World Water Day on March 22, she has incorporated the significance of both events to bring attention to a crucial matter: respecting the environment we live in.
Filmed primarily underwater in the Maldives, her short film, named Matsya, centers around the story of a small fish called Matsya who grew to reveal the truth of the universe to King Satyavrata when the world was on the brink of destruction.
In the film, Rukmini portrays Matsya, attired in a simple yellow saree. Her mesmerizing movements underwater, accompanied by a soothing and melodious soundtrack produced and directed by Ambi Subramaniam, transport the audience into the story.
