The Osmania Medical College (OMC) has recently launched a pioneering initiative to help young doctors refine their procedural skills in a safe and controlled environment. The newly inaugurated Skill Lab is a one-of-a-kind facility designed to cater to nearly 500 undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as para-medical technicians, each year. The Director of Medical Education, Dr K Ramesh Reddy, unveiled the prototype demo and learning facility, which will help healthcare professionals fine-tune their clinical skills before they embark on real-life applications. The lab is a valuable platform for medical professionals to practice procedural skills such as trauma management, basic life support, paediatric emergency, obstetrics emergency, and acute cardiac management. This initiative is a step in the right direction, and the Principal of OMC, Dr P Shashikala Reddy, has emphasized the importance of this facility in the development of young doctors' skills. Moreover, the Skill Lab is hosting a five-day training of trainers from March 13 to 17. The training
