Karnataka: Take a tour of Shivamogga Airport dedicated to India by PM Modi

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth more than Rs 3,600 crore in Karnataka's Shivamogga district, signaling a significant infrastructure push in the area. A video of the tour of Shivamogga Airport is released.

One of the key projects inaugurated by PM Modi was the newly-built Shivamogga Airport, which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 450 crore. The airport is expected to provide improved air connectivity to the people of central Karnataka, which is likely to spur growth across various sectors like tourism and IT industries.

"The airport in Shivamogga will boost commerce, connectivity, and enhance tourism," wrote PM Modi on Twitter, highlighting the airport's potential to drive economic development in the region.

During his visit, PM Modi took a walk-through of the airport facilities, indicating the government's commitment to providing world-class infrastructure in the area. The airport's landing strip was recently tested by the Indian Air Force, which carried out a successful landing attempt with a passenger jet, further highlighting the airport's readiness to start operations.
