1st Test: India Register Innings Win Over Australia-Highlights

The Indian cricket team made a statement in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series, with a comprehensive win over Australia by an innings and 132 runs at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha. Ravichandran Ashwin led the charge with a spellbinding performance, claiming 5 wickets for just 37 runs in 12 overs. Ravindra Jadeja, who took 5-47 in the first innings, added 2 more wickets for 34 runs, and Mohammed Shami chipped in with 3-13 from five overs to clean up the tail.

India's first innings was fueled by impressive performances from Rohit Sharma, who scored 120 runs, and Axar Patel, who made 84 runs. Despite Todd Murphy's 7 wicket haul for Australia, the lack of support from the other bowlers resulted in India taking a 223 run lead.

Australia's skipper, Pat Cummins, had won the toss and chosen to bat first, but India quickly dismantled the Australian side, reducing them to 177 all out, thanks to Ravindra Jadeja's five-wicket haul. This dominant victory sets the tone for the rest of the series and shows the Indian cricket team's determination and skill.
