Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf passes away

Hyderabad: Former Pakistan President and Army Chief, Pervez Musharraf, passed away today at the age of 79 at the American Hospital in Dubai, UAE. After a prolonged battle with a serious illness, he had been in self-imposed exile for several years. He served as 10th President to Pakistan between 1998-2001. The status of his body's return to Pakistan has not been officially confirmed, although his family has been seeking to bring him back home since last year.

Musharraf was suffering from amyloidosis, a rare condition that causes the build-up of an abnormal protein called amyloid in organs and tissues, leading to dysfunction in connective tissues and organs. This disease affects normal functioning and can lead to serious health complications.
