The death of legendary singer Vani Jairam has sent shockwaves through the music industry. The 77-year-old was found dead at her apartment in Chennai on Saturday after her maid raised the alarm. Reports suggest that Vani was living alone at her downtown apartment and had been unwell for a few days prior to her death. Upon arriving at the singer's residence, the maid noticed that she wasn't responding and immediately contacted her relatives. The police were called in and upon breaking open the door, they found the singer's body. There were reported injuries on Vani's face, leading the police to suspect foul play. They have registered a case of suspicious death under Section 174 of the Thousand Lights police station.
