Hyderabad Metro's ticketing staff launched strike
On Tuesday, a section of the Hyderabad Metro Rail's ticketing crew went on strike in protest over lower pay and unfavourable working conditions.
Employees at the ticket counters at 27 metro stations along the L. B. Nagar–Miyapur line staged a sit-in protest to voice their demands. The protesters alleged that the authorities were ignoring their complaints about the working conditions.
They asked the contracting company for a specific assurance. The staff pleaded with the superiors to step in and deliver justice.
Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) has reported that sufficient crew is on hand and that train operations are proceeding on schedule.
The HMR management will need to take serious measures because their assertions are incorrect, and their behaviour is strongly against the public interest.
