White House: US government is aware of significant delays in Indian visa appointments
According to the White House, there has been a significant delay in the issuance of US visas in India. The President Biden-led U.S. Department of Administration stated that it was making every effort to issue visas as soon as possible.
"White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made it clear that we are aware of the delay in visa issuance in India.
"In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic catastrophe, we have made significant strides in the granting of visas. To meet the demand for visas, more work must be done.'' a spokesman for the White House said. The time spent waiting for visa interviews is being shortened. For the procedure, Pierre claimed she was increasing the State Department's employees.
The US has stated that visa applications will be processed more quickly than in the past.
