Video: When President Biden approached PM Modi for a handshake

Before they took their seats next to each other at the present G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia, US President Joe Biden today walked over to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a gesture of diplomatic significance.

In a video, PM Modi initially seemed to have been unaware that President Biden was walking toward him, but swiftly turns around to shake his hand and offer him a hug. PM Modi says something to President Biden that causes him to smile as he takes his seat. S Jaishankar, the foreign minister of India, and Ajit Doval, the country's national security adviser, are watching and subsequently take seats next to the two leaders.

Additionally, President Biden can be seen having discussions with adjacent foreign leaders like French President Emmanuel Macron.
