Politicians in Telangana state are still debating the allegations of poaching of TRS MLAs. The main opposition BJP and the ruling TRS continue to engage in verbal combat over this occurrence, each side making remarks and assertions in defence of their claims.

According to senior BJP leader Etela Rajender, CM K Chandra Sekhar Rao (KCR) allegedly had a significant part in the recent drama involving four TRS MLAs that targeted the BJP. The former Telangana Minister has questioned Chief Minister KCR's alleged complicity in the 2014–2018 poaching of 25 MLAs from opposition parties like the YSRCP, Congress, TDP, and CPI. He has asked Telangana's chief minister, KCR, to respond to these.

In response, Telangana Minister Harish Rao accused the BJP of ignoring the state's grain procurement problems while encouraging the purchase of MLAs by funnelling hundreds of crores of rupees into a conspiracy to overthrow the government.
