Welfare Vs development in the next election will be a disaster for the country politically, claims Jayaprakash Narayan
Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, the founder of Lok Satta, spoke at the GITAM NTR Centenary Celebrations as part of the NTR Memorial Lecture series on "Empowerment - Road to Good Governance." Deemed to be University in Visakhapatnam recently. The former IAS officer remembered the late NTR's grandeur and his efforts to serve the general public. He spoke to a few of the programmes started by the late CM NTR and his commitment to helping the populace. He remembered his time spent with former chief minister NT Rama Rao.
Jayaprakash Narayan, often known as JP, spoke at the occasion and praised Nirmala Sithraman for her work as the Union Finance Minister during the COVID-19 period and for raising the economy's level to a satisfactory level.
Mr. JP declared that it would be politically disastrous for the nation if the next election were to become a contest between welfare and development. He claimed that long-term development would not be aided by freebies and other transient benefits.
