According to Taiwan's weather agency, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the sparsely populated southeast of the island on Sunday, derailing train bogies, bringing down a convenience store, and trapping hundreds of people on mountain roads. The ground reportedly rocked nearly 12 times in the past 24 hours, according to sources. A lot of houses collapsed as a result of the powerful earthquake. Vehicles could be seen crashing and dispersing all over the place. People rushing outside of the roads were seen to be terrified. The earthquake that occurred on Sunday was 10 km deep, according to the USGS. No information of casualties have been reported so far.
