UK new Prime Minister: Liz Truss holds commanding lead over Indian-origin Rishi Sunak

According to the most recent YouGov poll, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has increased her commanding 28 lead over British-Indian ex-minister Rishi Sunak in the contest to become the UK's next Prime Minister. To advance to the final round of the party's leadership election to succeed Boris Johnson, Conservative Party members voted on Thursday to advance both Sunak and Truss.

According to the YouGov poll, one of them will now be chosen as the country's next prime minister by the party's membership in a vote that will take place from August 4 to early September. When removing those who said they wouldn't vote or were unsure, 62% of the 730 Conservative Party members polled on Wednesday and Thursday said they would vote for Truss, while 38% chose Sunak.
