PM Modi watches demo of India's first drone that can carry human payload
On July 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in Delhi for the first passenger-carrying drone demonstration in India. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. The drone was designed specifically for the Indian Navy, which can utilise it to begin with for material transfers. The 'Varuna' is a drone without a pilot, conceived and designed by an Indian firm called Sagar Defence.
There are four auto-pilot settings in "Varuna" that allow it to keep flying even if some fans stop working. The drone has a range of 25 km, a capacity of 130 kg, and an operational range of 25–33 minutes, according to Nikunj Parashar, founder and CEO of Sagar Defence.
