Nalgonda Woman Kills Husband, Tries to Pass It Off as Natural Death, Arrested
Nalgonda police have arrested a woman for allegedly murdering her husband and attempting to disguise the crime as a natural death. The case came to light after the deceased man's mother raised suspicions about the circumstances surrounding his demise.

According to the police, 44-year-old Mohammad Khalil Hussain, an attender at the Zilla Parishad High School in Charlagouraram under Kanagal Mandal, was allegedly killed by his wife, Akshar Jaha. The couple, who had been married since 2007, had three children. Police stated that Khalil was addicted to alcohol and frequently harassed his wife. Believing that his death would secure a government job for either herself or her children, Akshar Jaha allegedly planned to eliminate him.

On February 22, while no one else was at home, Akshar Jaha allegedly struck Khalil on the head with a heavy object. When he lost consciousness and collapsed, she took him to a government hospital, claiming he was injured in an accident. After a brief treatment, she brought him back home. However, his condition worsened, and on February 24, he was taken to a private hospital in Nalgonda, where doctors declared him dead.

Suspecting foul play, Khalil’s mother lodged a complaint with the police on February 25. Authorities registered a case of suspicious death and launched an investigation. Following the postmortem report on March 7, which confirmed a severe head injury as the cause of death, police took Akshar Jaha into custody. Upon interrogation, she confessed to the crime.

The police disclosed the details of the case in a press briefing on Tuesday, confirming that the accused had been arrested and remanded in custody.
