Gannavaram: In a shocking move in Andhra Pradesh, P. Gannavaram MLA, Kondeti Chittibabu, resigned from the primary membership of the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and joined the Congress Party. Chittibabu made this switch in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Chief Sharmila during a campaign event in Muddanur, YSR District. His immediate transition from YSRCP to Congress right after resigning is noteworthy.

Chittibabu, who had previously contested and won the assembly elections from P. Gannavaram as a candidate of YSRCP, cited dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs within the ruling party as the reason for his resignation. Shortly after leaving YSRCP, he met with Sharmila and formally embraced the Congress by donning the party's traditional shawl.
