Hyderabad: Shantiswaroop, the first Telugu TV news reader, passed away on Friday at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. Prominent figures from various fields have been reminiscing about their connections with him. Recently, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu expressed his shock over Shantiswaroop's death on social media.

Reacting on 'X' (formerly Twitter), Chandrababu Naidu said, "The demise of Shantiswaroop, the first Telugu news reader, anchor, and writer, has left me in shock. Whenever we think of news on Telugu Doordarshan, the first name that comes to mind is Shantiswaroop. During my tenure as the Chief Minister of the united state, we together hosted a program called 'Prajalato Mukhyamantri' every Monday. This six-year-long program allowed people to directly present their issues and find resolutions. Our bond was thus long-standing. I pray to God for peace to Shantiswaroop's soul and express my deep sympathy to his family and fans."
