Revanth Reddy claims that despite being criticized for his lack of English proficiency, his education in a Telugu medium government school led him to become the Chief Minister. He shared these thoughts during a job appointment letters distribution event at LB Stadium on Monday, where he participated and handed out appointment letters to 5,192 selected candidates for lecturer and teacher positions. Reddy highlighted that his government has issued appointment letters to 30,000 individuals within just three months of tenure, marking a significant step towards their governance ideal of elevating farmers to kings, a vision that took its first step at LB Stadium itself.
Reddy emphasized the pivotal role of students, youth, and the unemployed in the achievement of Telangana statehood, attributing the realization of Telangana to their sacrifices and martyrdom. He expressed disappointment with the previous ruling family over the last decade, accusing them of failing to meet the aspirations of the youth, who believed the formation of Telangana would bring them justice.
Recollecting his educational journey, Revanth Reddy mentioned his schooling in a Telugu medium at a district-level government school, asserting that he did not attend corporate schools in cities like Guntur or Gudivada.
He criticized the previous government for boasting about establishing thousands of Gurukuls without actually providing a single permanent building for them, highlighting the hardships faced by impoverished students due to lack of facilities. Reddy also accused the previous government of behaving as if only the affluent should pursue education while the poor should be restricted to rearing fish, sheep, and goats. He condemned the closure of 6,000 schools under the guise of rationalization by KCR, and announced the construction of residential schools for SC, ST, Minority, and OBC students on a 25-acre campus in Kodangal constituency, with an investment of Rs. 150 crores, aiming to develop it on a university model.
