On Wednesday, the Ongole court delivered a verdict sentencing film producer and character artist Bandla Ganesh to one year in jail in a cheque bounce case. The court ordered Ganesh to immediately repay the borrowed amount of Rs. 95 lakhs to the complainant, in addition to covering the court expenses. In 2019, Ganesh borrowed Rs. 95 lakhs from Janakiramayya, a resident of Maddiralapadu. Following Janakiramayya's death, Ganesh issued a cheque for Rs. 95 lakhs to Janakiramayya's father.

When the cheque bounced, Janakiramayya's father sought legal recourse from the Ongole court. After conducting the trial, the court recently announced its decision, mandating the immediate repayment of the borrowed sum along with the court expenses due to the cheque bounce, and sentenced Ganesh to one year in jail.

Previously, the Erramanzil court had also sentenced Bandla Ganesh to six months in jail in a case filed by Vakkantham Vamsi, who provided the story for the movie "Temper". In this case, the court imposed a fine of Rs. 15,86,550, in addition to the jail term.
