Punjagutta: Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Srinivas Reddy has ordered the transfer of the entire staff of the Panjagutta Police Station. This includes personnel ranging from Sub-Inspectors to Home Guards, totaling 85 members. All transferred individuals have been directed to report to the City Armed Reserve Headquarters. In their place, 82 new members have been appointed to the Panjagutta Police Station. This mass transfer of the entire staff from a single police station on the same day has created a sensation across the state.

The Panjagutta Police Station, located in Hyderabad, has recently been under scrutiny due to various incidents within its jurisdiction. Allegations of misconduct in several cases and criticisms over the handling of an accident involving a former MLA’s son have been raised. There have also been accusations that information was being leaked from this station to influential individuals from the previous government.

It is in this context that Commissioner Srinivas Reddy made this drastic decision, which is being seen as a response to the aforementioned issues. Officials state that this is the first time in the state’s history that 85 staff members from a single police station have been transferred simultaneously.
