Nara Lokesh Named as Accused No. 14 in Inner Ring Road Case

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader, N. Chandrababu Naidu, is already under judicial remand in relation to a skill development case. In a recent development, he has filed a quash petition in the Supreme Court seeking relief from this case. Meanwhile, rumors have been circulating for several days that TDP’s young leader, Nara Lokesh, might also face arrest, as suggested by statements from the YSR Congress Party leaders.

In line with these speculations, there are indications that preparations are being made for Lokesh’s arrest. Lokesh has been named as accused number 14 by the CID in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road case. The CID has included Lokesh’s name as an accused in the memo filed in the ACB court.

Delving into the details of the case, the YSRCP government alleges that the original design of the Inner Ring Road in the Amaravati region was changed by former CM Chandrababu Naidu to increase the value of lands owned by TDP leaders. Last year, CID officials registered a case under several sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act. Besides Chandrababu Naidu, the FIR also names former minister P. Narayana, Lingamaneni Ramesh, Lingamaneni Venkat Surya Rajashekar, Anjani Kumar of ARK Housing Limited, Heritage Foods, Ramakrishna Housing Private Limited, among others, as accused.

The YSRCP government continues to level allegations that during his tenure as Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu modified the original design of the Inner Ring Road, thereby benefitting several TDP leaders by enhancing the value of their lands in the Amaravati region.
