Advocates protest outside US Consulate in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 5, 2015: Hundreds of lawyers from Telangana courts on Monday held a demonstration at the American consulate here protesting against the disgrace meted out to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by a US company. The lawyers raised slogans against the company which released beer bottles into the market containing the images and name of Mahatma Gandhi. The advocates tried to barge into the US consulate office but police prevented. The police have arrested some of the lawyers in this connection. The lawyers were demanding the withdrawing of the beer tins from the market. It may be recalled that the New England Trading Company apologised after the people in India and Indians in the US had raised a hue and cry over the brand.
