Suspended Shaikpet MRO Ch. Sujatha dies of heart attack

Hyderabad, September 3: Shaikpet MRO Ch. Sujatha, who was arrested by the ACB in disproportionate assets case on June 8, 2020 and later released on bail, died of heart attack at NIMS here on Saturday. She was admitted to NIMS on Friday evening after she complained of chest pain. Doctors at NIMS confirmed she breathed her last because of cardiac arrest.
 
When Sujatha was in jail, her husband Ajay Kumar ended his life by jumping from a five-storey residential apartment near his sister’s house at Chikkadpally on June 16, 2020. He used to work as an assistant professor at Osmania University Arts College.
 
Sujatha was trapped by ACB after she demanded complainant to pay bribe of Rs 30 lakh for updating details of his 4,865 square yards of land at Road No. 14 in Banjara Hills online after conducting a survey. The market value of the land is estimated to be around Rs 40 crore.
