Karthikeya 2 one-week box office collections: Nikhil film crosses Rs 60.12 crore
Hyderabad: Karthikeya 2, which was released sans expectations has become a super hit. Surprisingly, it is raking in the moolah and shaking Bollywood. Especially the big movies of Tollywood like Pushpa and RRR have taken the Hindi box office by storm.
It is noteworthy that the medium-range movie, which stars Nikhil, who is not known to North audience, has given Bollywood a boost as major Hindi films like 'Samrat Prithviraj', 'Shamshera', 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and 'Raksha Bandhan' have failed to impress the audience.
It is no ordinary thing that this film, which started in only 50 theaters is now showing successfully in more than 3,000 screens. Aamir Khan's Lal Singh Chadha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan have failed miserably so the theatre managers are taking out these big films and running Karthikeya 2.
In total, this movie collected Rs. 60.12 crore gross after a week. It seems the film has cashed in on the Krishnashtami festival. Karthikeya 2 became the highest-grossing film in the career of hero Nikhil Siddharth. Anupama Parameswaran played the female lead in this movie, which was released on August 13 and directed by Chandu Mondeti.
