Annamayya dist: Woman beheads daughter-in-law, walks with head to police station

Annamayya, August 11: In a horrific incident, a woman chopped off her daughter-in-law’s head at K. Ramapuram village in Rayachoti mandal on Thursday afternoon. Later, she stuffed the head in a polythene bag and carried to Rayachoti police station and surrendered herself to the police. The cops were shocked on seeing a woman walking straight away to police station after committing crime.

According to police, Subbamma’s son and Vasundara got married several years ago. However, he died three years ago. Since then, Vasundara had illicit relationship with one Mallikarjuna. Subbamma warned her daughter-in-law to end illegal affair with Mallikarjuna. But she continued so despite repeated requests and warnings from mother-in-law.

Subamma informed police that argument over illicit affair broke between them on several occasions even today also. “In a self-defence from my daughter-in-law, I chopped off her head,” she confessed. The police registered a case and sent the head and dead body to government hospital for post-mortem.
