Hyderabad, July 30: While saying people of Telangana will believe only political parties which fought for separate statehood, BJP national vice-president D.K. Aruna on Saturday said that Y.S Sharmila launched YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) in Telangana due to differences within the family of former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Speaking to the media after participating in a meeting on ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Mahotsav’ held at party office here, Aruna stated that Sharmila never participated in agitation for Telangana state. “People will not support political parties of Andhra-based politicians till Telangana sentiment is alive,” she mentioned.

The BJP leader recalled that Sharmila campaigned for the YSRCP in 2019 elections in Andhra Pradesh. “Why YSRTP chief did not launch her political party in AP and contested in polls,” Aruna asked. To a question, she mentioned that people want BJP to come to power in Telangana in ensuing Assembly elections. State BJP leaders were present.
