33,000 RT-PCR kits worth Rs 100 crore go missing from Siddhartha Medical College

Vijayawada, July 29: In the first phase of pandemic, Dr YSR Aarogyasri Trust had handed over 7 lakh RT-PCR kits to Siddhartha Medical College for testing COVID-19 from April 9, 2020 to July 31, 2021. However, an RTI query has revealed that 33,000 kits worth Rs 100 crore went missing.
 
But the sources from Siddhartha Medical College are saying that they have returned left over 33,000 kits to Aarogyasri Trust. There are allegations that missing kits were found with some private hospitals at the peak of the coronavirus. An in-depth probe will reveal as to who were responsible for diversion of RT-PCR kits.
